Naya Beach Bar & Restaurant

The Naya Beach Bar Restaurant is located on Faliraki Beach Rhodes.

Its intended idea of philosophy is based on enjoying good living through natural materials and colours elements which lead quite successfully to authenticity inspiration spiritualism and luxury. The main design line was to create an elegant space the identity of which invokes elements of the island’s Italian architectural heritage away from the beaten path of Boho and Ethnic styles.

Domes arches and curved wave forms are applied to contemporary organic forms in order to create unique character. The architectural approach combined with the use of material such as stone wood, industrial flooring and marble transform the space into a microcosm of natural simplicity integrated and coexisting in harmony with its environment, with a relaxed palette of soft natural tones.  Every single element of the project tells a common story and yet it combines with the total to create an inspiring relaxed calm atmosphere.

The central pillar and reference point of the project  is the imposing pergola made of timber structured by five perforated aluminum domes. Throughout the day sunlight filters through the perforated custom made pattern illuminating and shading the space at the same time. The shadows cast by the perforated domes enhance the natural materials chosen and offer a continuous transmutation of the space all through the day.  The evening lighting from the specially designed pendant lights continues to bring the dome to life from within creating a cosy ambiance for an evening meal. The pergola accommodates the show kitchen and the bar for a formal dining with unobstructed sea view. The wet element combined with the planting of the surrounding area, results in the creation of an ideal microclimate and a high quality recreational area. A topography of terraces of industrial flooring and wooden deck flows from the restaurant to the sandy beach. The transition takes place through an imposing staircase made of  beton cire. The circulation is organized to create designated areas of eating, drinking or relaxing, allowing light and air to flow naturally into the open space and permitting constant viewing ofthe beach the sea and the sunset as well. The combination of these intentionally designed and natural elements produce amulti-sensory architecture that sits in harmony with the environment, provides a natural comfortable refuge and creates an exciting social atmosphere. Through a route of alternating movement and stopping the user is given access to the outdoor area of the restaurant. This constitutes another outdoor recreation core where visitors can enjoy the wonderful view of the beach. It then moves in succession descending in level to the beach. The wooden deck breaks up and spills out in front of the beach devising small areas of relaxed seating for even more relaxed gatherings. The overall impression is of an elegant structure that celebrates the design the character the Ethos of the island’s heritage full of light and movement.
